On February 11, 2007 special prayer service and candle light vigil was held at Debre Selam Medhane Alem Ethiopian
Orthodox Church in Minneapolis, for “Free Our Leaders” campaign project. Kinijit support group in Minnesota in
collaboration with Kinijit International and a number of community activists organized the event. Large number of
Ethiopian residents of the Twin cities attended the candle light vigil and prayer at Debre Selam Medhane Alem Church,
despite the frigid cold of the day. Many local political activists and Human Right advocate various organizations
attended the event.
The Board Church person Ato Zewede Hailu addressed the gathering and spoke the gross violation of human rights
and lack of justice Ethiopia. He reminded the audience that an assault on democracy and justice has become a daily
occurrence of Ethiopian political landscape. He told the audiences that the current jailed Kinijit leaders are
accomplished and recognized academicians and human rights advocates. Their only crime is their dedication for the
life for democratic empowerment of the Ethiopian people. He remanded the audience that it the solemn duty of every
peace loving Ethiopian to vigorously participate in all forms of campaign to bring an end the era of mass political
imprisonment, corruption and ethnocracy in Ethiopia.

Candlelight vigil in Minneapolis, Minnesota
በመንትዮቹ ከተሞች ነዋሪ የሆኑ ኢትዮጵያውያን ሚኒያፖሊስ ከተማ በሚገኘው የቅዱስ መደሃኔዓለም ቤ/ክ በመሰባሰብ ልዩ
የፀሎትና የሻማ ማብራት ሥርዓት አከናውነዋል።
ዕሁድ Feb. 11, 2007 የተደረገው ይህ የሻማ ማብራትና ልዩ የፀሎት ሥርዓት የቅንጅት ዓለም አቀፍ አመራር የነደፈውና መሪዎቻችንንም
ለማስፈታት በተከታታይ ከሚሠሩት የሰላማዊ ተቃውሞ ትግል አንዱ አካል መሆኑ ይታወቃል።
በአምባገነኑ የመለስ ዜናዊ መንግሥት በእሥር ላይ የሚገኙትንና በይስሙላው ፍርድ ቤት Feb. 19, 2006 ብይን ይሰጣቸውል ተብሎ ቀጠሮ
ለተያዘላቸው የቅንጅት መሪዎች፣ ጋዜጠኞች፣ የሰባዓዊ መብት ታጋዮችና ሌሎች በፖለቲካ አመለካከት ልዩነት የታሠሩትን ለማስፈታት
የሚደርገው ትግል ተጠናክሮ እንደሚቀጥል ይታመናል።
የሚኔሶታ ቅንጅት የድጋፍ ቻፕተር ከሌሎች የዲሞክራሲ ናፋቂዎች ጋር በማበር ያደራጀው ይህ የልዩ ፀሎትና የሻማ ማብራት ተማጽኖ
ከሚጠበቀው በላይ ውጤት የታየበት እንደነበር ተረጋግጧል። በወቅቱ የመደሃኔ ዓለም ቤ/ክ የቦርድ አመራር ለዝግጅቱ መሳካት ያደረጉት ጥረት
ለትዮጵያ ሕዝብ ያላቸውን ወገንተኛነት ያሳዩበት መሆኑም በትክክል ታይቷል።
በተለይ ብየቦርዱ ሊቀመንበር የሆኑት አቶ ዘውዴ ኃይሉ ሃገራችን ያለችበትን አስከፊ ሁኔታ አብራርተዋል። በአሁኑ ወቅት በእሥር የሚማቅቁት
ወግገኖች ጥፋት ለትክክለኛ ዴሞክራሲያዊ ሥርዓት እና ለነፃ ማህበረሰብ ግንባታ መቆማቸው ብቻ ነው በማለት አብራርተው፤ ይህ ደግሞ ማንም
አምባገነናዊ ሥርዓት በጸጋ የማይቀበለውና በሕዝብ ያላሰለሰ ትግል ብቻ የሚገኝ ድል በመሆኑ እያንዳንዱ ዜጋ ለመብቱ መታገል አለበት
ብለዋል።
የልዩ ፀሎትና የሻማ ማብራቱ ሥርዓት በመንፈሳዊ መዘምራን ውዝዋዜ የታጀበና በመድሃኔዓለም ቤ/ክ ታሪክ የመጀመሪያው ስለነበር ዕለቱ ልዩ
ትዝታን አጫሪ እንደሚሆን ይታመናል።
በመጨረሻም ስለ መጪው Feb. 15, 2007 11:00 AM አጠቃላይ ሰላማዊ ሠልፍ ገላጭ በራሪ ወረቀቶች ለህዝብ እንዲደርሰ ተደርጓል። ይሄው
አጠቃላይ የልዩ ፀሎትና የሻማ ማብራት ሥርዓት በከተማችን በሚገኙት የተለያዩ ራዲዮ ጣቢያዎች ሰፊ የዓየር ጊዜ ተሰጥቶት ውሏል።
የፀሎትና የሻማ ማብራት ሥርዓት አከናውነዋል።

ከሚጠበቀው በላይ ውጤት የታየበት እንደነበር ተረጋግጧል። በወቅቱ የመደሃኔ ዓለም ቤ/ክ የቦርድ አመራር ለዝግጅቱ መሳካት ያደረጉት ጥረት
ለትዮጵያ ሕዝብ ያላቸውን ወገንተኛነት ያሳዩበት መሆኑም በትክክል ታይቷል።
በተለይ ብየቦርዱ ሊቀመንበር የሆኑት አቶ ዘውዴ ኃይሉ ሃገራችን ያለችበትን አስከፊ ሁኔታ አብራርተዋል። በአሁኑ ወቅት በእሥር የሚማቅቁት
ወግገኖች ጥፋት ለትክክለኛ ዴሞክራሲያዊ ሥርዓት እና ለነፃ ማህበረሰብ ግንባታ መቆማቸው ብቻ ነው በማለት አብራርተው፤ ይህ ደግሞ ማንም
አምባገነናዊ ሥርዓት በጸጋ የማይቀበለውና በሕዝብ ያላሰለሰ ትግል ብቻ የሚገኝ ድል በመሆኑ እያንዳንዱ ዜጋ ለመብቱ መታገል አለበት
ብለዋል።
