Other members also gave a speech. Ato Tefera Kassa read a poem written by Ashibir Worku about kinijit leaders followed by Ato Fisha Hailu inspiring poem. Both Ato Ashiber and ato Fisha are members of the Fonte Tibebe literary group and we thank them for their participation. It was a night to remember as our community came together enjoyed the evening with video show, while the evening had a serious purpose, it also had a lot of fun, and we had a great time interacting with lots of new friends.
Our Fundraising Committees worked diligently and are committed to continue to work on our on-going fundraising projects. They provided all the necessary items at their own expense. Special thanks goes to the many people who brought food and drinks. Kinijit Minnesota is strong once again along with gaining membership. Our fundraising successes are evidence of total commitment to what we believe in and love the unjustly imprisoned kinijit leaders, journalists and human right advocates. We will continue our peaceful struggle for their freedom and the democratization of Ethiopia.
